About the blog
Write Mindset is about all aspects of writing. It’s about learning to write well, writing things you love, writing things that will persuade, will sell, will grab people’s attention.
It’s also about the connections between thinking and writing, being in the right frame of mind for writing, and the impact that great writing can have on people.
It’s for people who want to improve their writing, people who employ writers, and anyone who wants to know about the craft of writing for whatever reason.
It’s for people who write blogs, school essays, fiction, newspaper articles, marketing copy, letters, thoughts and shopping lists.
The aim is to give useful information, so there’s lots of ‘how to’ articles and references to other useful sources, including essential books.
If anything here helps, interests or outrages you, please feel free to leave a comment. (I’m using the do-follow plugin, by the way, so this site is ‘no-follow free’. So get commenting. However, you’ll need to leave three comments before the do-follow gets activated. And don’t waste your time if they’re spammy. I delete those).
There are affiliate links but I’m only promoting things I genuinely believe in and use myself. The books, for example, are ones that I own, read and refer to for ideas. It’s seems only fair the author gets a plug, and I benefit (to a very small degree) too.
About the writer
This site is the work of copywriter and journalist Simon Townley. I work in the UK, and have been freelance for the past 12 years. If you’re interested, you can see my brochure-ware site here.
I’ve worked as a professional writer for around 20 years. I also have a degree in English literature from a UK university. (If you want to be a writer, this is not necessarily a route I recommend).
I now live in the south west of England, near the moors and beaches, with a woman, two cats and an Airedale Terrier. If you want to reward me for any useful information you find on the site, then mine’s a pint of Otter.
If you want to contact me, just leave a comment. Or you can email me at: simont @ the url of this site. (Hope that makes sense).
