Your poll doesn't seem to be working correctly. Although you say to tick as many as we'd like, when I did so I got a message saying the maximum number was one.

Just wanted to let you know. Great post, btw.

Steve

thanks - glad you liked it. I know that in the States a lot people would have a picture of themselves in a suit looking all 'business' and hyper-successful. I think it's one of those charming cultural differences. In the UK, copywriters virtually never wear a suit. As for the beer, well, we're a nation of boozers I suppose. Not as bad as the Germans, however. Now they really know how to drink.

Simon,

I love your picture with the beer. Cheers! It made me smile. Here in the States, almost no one would do that. I love it.

this is great line up. It should be on delicious and SU. So I saved to both places. Good luck to you.

Thanks Kat - any more tips? Keep 'em coming and I might do another post to include some of the additional software. Or if any PC users out there want to review the Windows offerings on their own blog, link back here and let me know - I'll post a link to your review.

Since I'm on a PC for my desktop, I'm partial to yWriter for large projects. It helps keep me organized, and it was developed by an author as a tool HE found helpful.

I've also heard that RoughDraft is good for script writing, and both are open-source (aka "free").

Alexandre, thanks for the tip. I've just taken a quick look at CeltX and it looks astonishing. I'll download it and give it a spin. And for everyone else out there - CeltX is available for PC, Linux and Mac OS X. It does movie scripts, AV, theatre plays, radio and good old plain text.

There's also CeltX (http://celtx.com/) and it's for free. It's suitable both for movie scripts and novels/short stories. Very user friendly and quite manageable, it's my favorite.
Great post, as always.
